Dr. Buki Ajala, MD, ScE Endo., FRCP (UK), FRCPC
Dr Buki Ajala (also known by her married name: Olubaniyi), obtained her post-graduate medical training from England, United Kingdom (UK) in 2012, specializing in Internal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology.
She completed academic fellowships in obesity, metabolic risk, pituitary endocrinology and gestational diabetes at the Peninsula Medical School, UK and University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada respectively. She is currently studying for a PhD at the Universities of Surrey and Plymouth, UK looking at predictors of cardio-metabolic diseases.
Before moving to Alberta, she worked as a Staff/Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at a busy hospital in South East England.
She is a member of various medical associations in Canada, United States and United Kingdom and has received awards/prizes at every stage of her career.
Her research has been published in reputable medical journals and her clinical interests include Pituitary disorders, Diabetes, Thyroid disorders, Obesity, Osteoporosis, Adrenal dysfunction, treatment of high cholesterol, and endocrine conditions associated with pregnancy.
